Modern protection for the pets you love. A faster way home.
Pup Finder is a modern pet protection platform — smart QR tags, an emergency-ready digital pet profile, and instant owner alerts the moment your pet is found. Calm, transparent, and built to pair with your pet's microchip.
How a scan saves the day
Three simple steps. Zero confusion. Zero silent tracking.

3. You get an instant alert
An SMS arrives with a Google Maps link to where your dog was found.

What Pup Finder is — and isn't
Plain language. No hype. So you know exactly what you're getting.
Pup Finder is:
- A smart QR pet profile system
- A faster way for finders to reach the owner
- An editable digital pet profile you control
- A recovery layer that pairs with a microchip
Pup Finder is not:
- A live GPS tracker
- A replacement for a microchip
- Silent phone or pet tracking
- A guarantee every lost pet will be recovered
Built on consent. Not surveillance.
We never silently track location. The finder must tap a clear button and approve their browser's location permission before anything is shared. If they decline, they can still help — by typing in a landmark or cross streets.
- Explicit consent before location is collected
- Owner contact details are optional — you choose what's on the public profile
- Manual fallback if location is denied
- Mark pets safe or missing in one tap

Why Pup Finder Works Faster
Microchips are important. But they were never built for instant recovery.
Microchips are a critical part of pet safety. They provide permanent identification and are an important backup if your pet is ever lost. They typically help after someone brings your dog to a shelter or vet to be scanned.
Pup Finder works the moment your dog is found. With one quick scan, the finder sees your dog's profile, can call or text you instantly, and can share their location right away — no special scanner, no shelter visit, no waiting.
Use both for the best protection. Microchip for permanent ID. Pup Finder for faster recovery.

Best protection is both.
A microchip helps identify your dog. Pup Finder helps bring them home faster.
Built for real recovery moments
Three things Pup Finder is designed to do well — no hype, no claims we can't back.
Finder clarity
A person who finds your pet can open the profile, understand what to do, and contact you without creating an account.
Owner control
You choose what appears publicly, update the profile any time, and can pause or change information from your dashboard.
Practical backup
Pup Finder pairs with your pet's microchip by adding a faster way for everyday finders to reach you.
Microchips are permanent identification.
Embedded ID that vets and shelters scan to look up your contact details.
Pup Finder is immediate recovery.
Anyone with a phone can scan, contact you, and share location in seconds.
The strongest protection uses both.
Permanent ID for the long term. Instant alerts for the first hour that matters most.
Common questions, answered
Trust, privacy, and how scans actually work.
Does Pup Finder replace a microchip?+
No. Microchips are permanent identification — Pup Finder is immediate recovery. We're built to work alongside your pet's microchip, not replace it. The strongest protection uses both.
Can someone scan the tag without downloading an app?+
Yes. Anyone with a smartphone camera can scan the QR tag. There's nothing to download, install, or sign up for. The finder simply opens the link.
Does Pup Finder track my pet all the time?+
Never. There is no GPS in the tag and nothing tracks in the background. A location is only ever shared if a finder scans the tag and explicitly chooses to share theirs.
Does the finder's location get shared automatically?+
No. The finder must tap a clear button and approve their browser's location permission first. Consent always comes before any location is collected.
What happens when someone scans my pet's tag?+
They see your pet's profile, can call or text you instantly, and can choose to share their location. You receive an SMS in seconds with a Google Maps link to where your pet was found.
Can I update my pet profile later?+
Yes. Sign in to your dashboard any time to update your phone number, photo, medical notes, or mark your pet as safe or missing.
What if the finder denies location permission?+
They can still help. The finder flow includes a manual fallback for typing in cross streets, a landmark, or a description of where your pet was found.
Is my phone number public?+
Your number isn't printed on the public profile — it sits behind Call and Text buttons. Tapping those uses the finder's normal phone or SMS app, so they will see your number when you connect. Pup Finder doesn't currently mask or relay calls. If you prefer, use a secondary line (e.g., Google Voice) on your profile.
Owner-controlled by design. A finder's location is only shared after they approve. Pup Finder does not silently track phones or pets.
